One-to-one support
What do we offer?
A confidential, non-judgmental space with a qualified therapist (and former solicitor) to:
be seen, understood and supported in your current experience;
process feelings arising from work; and,
reflect on changes that might be made.
Short-term therapy (online)
Block of between 6 and 12 weekly sessions.
These might best support practitioners to deal with the effects of a specific case or a discrete/particular work-based issue.
For example, you could book a block in advance to follow the end of a difficult inquest.
Monthly reflective supervision (online)
A regular space to process, reflect, feel, alongside a qualified therapist with a decade of experience working in legal aid law, and 8 years supporting lawyers in reflective practice.
Confidentiality
Whether you book directly with us or through your workplace, the content of your sessions will be kept confidential by Joanna*.
Your contact details will be held by Claiming Space and may be accessed by my co-Director Rachel Francis in exceptional circumstances.
About Joanna
I am an integrative therapist, registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
As an integrative therapist I draw on a range of modalities and techniques to support each person individually. I believe each person is the expert in their own experience. In our work we will walk side by side with each other, exploring the terrain, examining different pathways ahead and navigating difficulties.
Since 2017 I have worked in mental health supporting lawyers and others working with clients affected by injustice, austerity, and the hostile environment. I have facilitated over 300 hours of reflective practice.
I am a former solicitor and spent 10 years working in the legal aid and social justice sector.
Registered Member (406912) of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy
PGDip in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
MSc in Psychology (researching vicarious trauma in the legal profession)
