Claiming Space is a Community Interest Company providing peer support groups, in-person and online training for lawyers working with vulnerable populations.

Legal basis for holding information
As a Community Interest Company holding training, peer support group meetings, and providing updates to our mailing list members about self-care, burnout, and vicarious trauma, alongside updates about meetings and events, Claiming Space has a legitimate interest in collecting, storing and processing the personal data of group / training attendees and mailing list members. Claiming Space will use your personal data to pursue this legitimate interest in a way that does not materially impact upon your rights, freedom or interests.
In specific situation, we can collect and process your data with your consent. Claiming Space considers that you give your consent for Claiming Space to collect and process your personal data when you sign up to the Claiming Space mailing list and / or when you sign up to attend a peer support group / training session.

What sort of personal data do we collect?
Claiming Space collects the following data when you sign up to the Claiming Space mailing list and / or when you attend a peer support group / training session.
1. Name;
2. Email address; and,
3. Your intention to attend one of our events.
Why do we use your personal data?
Claiming Space uses your personal data in order to provide you with updates about self-care, burnout, and vicarious trauma, as well as updates about meetings and events run by Claiming Space and our partner organisations.
How do we use your personal data?
If you enter your name and email address and/or intention to attend an event via our website it is sent to and stored on our email account (operated by Google). If you have asked to join the mailing list, your name and email address are uploaded to Mailchimp so that you can receive emails from us about Claiming Space activities.
How do we protect your personal data?
Claiming Space protects your data by ensuring that only people with a legitimate interest in processing your data have access to it, this is limited to the co-directors of Claiming Space only. All names and email addresses are stored in a password protected Mailchimp account.
In the event of the loss of the loss of a personal device on which Claiming Space email accounts are stored, unauthorised access of Claiming Space accounts or the circulation / distribution of your data, Claiming Space would inform the ICO within 72 hours of discovery of the breach and notify the persons concerned directly.
Your data will not be shared with other organisation without your consent unless specified in our privacy notice.
Who do we share your data with?
Claiming Space only provides the data needed to perform services and they may only use your data for the purposes we specify.

Squarespace;
Dubsado.
What are your rights over your personal data?
You have a right to request:
1. Access to the personal data that we hold about you;
2. Correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete; and,
3. That your data be deleted.
Claiming Space will process any request as soon as reasonably practicable. Please bear in mind when making requests that Claiming Space is a small organisation run part-time by its co-directors. Claiming Space will, however, endeavour to process any requests within 30 days.
